Giclee F A Q

 

Q. What is Giclée?

 

A. A Giclée (zhee-CLAY) is a French word meaning little squirt. It is an individually produced, high-resolution reproduction of your original artwork done on a special large format printer. Giclée are produced from digital files scanned at high resolution. Giclée can be printed on many types of media, from canvas to watercolour paper from many different manufactures. Giclée are superior to traditional litho printing in several ways. The colours are brighter and last longer, also colour range, or "gamut" of colours for Giclée is greater than that of litho printing, and the image is crisper.

 

Q. What sizes can you print?

 

A. We can print any size with a maximum paper width of 1520 mm and maximum length of 12 meters for colou rand Black & White images,

Q. What does a Giclée print cost?

Q. Can you mount our prints?

A. Yes we offer a mounting service to all our customers see our picture mount page

 

Q. Do you finish prints with any kind of coating and what kind of coating do you use?

 

A. All of our prints are finished with Lyson Print Guard it is resistant to yellowing or cracking. Please ask if you do not want this service.

 

Q. Can I just start with one print?

 

A. Yes, we can make just one Giclée. But there are great cost savings to be had with both with delivery and quantity with multiple print orders.

 

Q. How long do you store my files?

 

A. As a policy we keep active files are kept for 12 months. For our active customers, the files are kept and regularly backed up we also send you a CD of your images that we have printed for your records and safekeeping.

 

Q. What kind of longevity can I expect from my Giclée?

A. Tests conducted by specialized labs are pointing at around 75 years in colour and 100 years in monochrome.

 

Q. How long will it take to receive my proofs and then the finals?

 

A. It all depends on our workload and the number of Giclée ordered. For proofs it usually takes 5-7 working days and final image about 10 days. It could be earlier or later. The best way to find out is to call us. On +44 (0) 1773 775172

 

Q. How do I provide digital files to you?
